WOODLAND
HISTORY INTERACTIVE
The 35 woodlands in the Fuelling a Revolution programme are almost
all ancient woodlands, that is, woodlands that are known to be at
least 400 years old. However, in contrast to ancient woodlands in
most other parts of Britain, those in South Yorkshire are remarkable
because so much is known about their history.
The interactive part of this website explores the fascinating
history of the Heritage Woodlands through a series of attractive
images linked by multiple-choice questions which will test and improve
your knowledge of the woodlands. Alternatively the activity can
be run as a slide show without the questions.
Although this interactive has been specially designed with children
in mind, we hope that adults will enjoy and learn from it too!
