Although no buses travel directly to the site, the immediate area is reasonably well served by public transport.

From Rotherham, bus service 132 travels to Treeton three times an hour. Buses to Aughton from Rotherham include the 126 (twice every hour) and the 129, 263 and X26 (each once an hour).

Buses from Sheffield run to Fence, close to the southern end of Falconer Wood. These include the 222, X5, X6 and X15, all of which run once an hour.

The area is also easily accessible from the Mosborough/Crystal Peaks area, from where the number 222 can be caught.

All bus routes and times are of course subject to change and so you are advised to contact Traveline on 01709 515151 to confirm these details.

ACCESS TO THE WOOD
Please refer to the access map below.
Treeton Wood - access map
Treeton Wood is joined to its neighbour, Hail Mary Hill Wood, by this unofficial but well used path across fields.

Access Points
There are a number of pedestrian access points into the northern edge of Treeton Wood along Treeton Lane/Wood Lane. The two major access points (shown on the map) are both suitable for use by schools.

The footpath running from Wood Lane into the privately owned north-western part of the wood is not an official access point and should not be used. Similarly, unofficial access points on the eastern edge of the woodland pass onto adjoining farmland and should not be used.

An unofficial but well used path connects the eastern tip of Hail Mary Hill Wood with the western tip of Treeton Wood, across fields.

Paths
Treeton Wood is crossed by a number of footpaths. The northern part of the wood is relatively flat and dry but the central part is more steeply sloping and the southern edge is relatively wet.

Wheelchair Access
Wheelchair access to Treeton Wood is poor or non-existent and the less able bodied are confined to the northern part of the site via the access point at the north-eastern corner of the wood.

TOILET FACILITIES
No toilet facilities exist in or immediately adjacent to Treeton Wood. Toilet facilities are however available at nearby Ulley Country Park.
