ROLLESTONE WOOD - VEGETATION

Rollestone Wood contains a wide variety of different woodland types including semi-natural areas dominated by Oak and Birch or by Oak, Ash and Elm; plantation areas dominated by Beech or Sycamore; areas with a mixture of native and non-native trees; and areas of young trees that have developed recently on the edge of the woodland.

As well as woodland, the site also includes some glades and a small area of particularly species-rich meadow on the northern edge of the wood, which is part of Rollestone Meadow.

VEGETATION TYPES
The distribution of different vegetation types in Rollestone Wood can be seen on the map below. More detailed information on each vegetation type can be seen by clicking on different areas of the map.
