ROLLESTONE
WOOD - VEGETATION
Rollestone Wood
contains a wide variety of different woodland types including semi-natural
areas dominated by Oak and Birch or by Oak, Ash and Elm; plantation
areas dominated by Beech or Sycamore; areas
with a mixture of native and non-native trees; and areas of young
trees that have developed recently on the edge of the woodland.
As well as woodland,
the site also includes some glades and a small area of particularly
species-rich meadow on the northern edge of the wood, which is part
of Rollestone Meadow.
