THE LUMB - VEGETATION
Two types of broadleaved woodland are found in The Lumb.

Though the wood is on an ancient woodland site, the majority is now occupied by plantations of Sycamore and, to a lesser extent, of Beech.

The northernmost part of the site, immediately adjacent to Rollestone Wood, has a mixture of native trees such as Oak, Ash, Birch, Elm and Hawthorn and the non-native species found in the plantation area.

WOODLAND TYPES
The distribution of different vegetation types in The Lumb can be seen on the map below. More detailed information on each vegetation type can be seen by clicking on different areas of the map.
