SCHOLES
COPPICE & BRAY PLANTATION - VEGETATION
Scholes Coppice is known
to be an ancient woodland, meaning that it has been in existence
for at least the past 400 years. However, major parts of the wood
have, for the past century, been dominated by planted non-native
trees such as Beech, Sycamore and Sweet Chestnut.
Bray Plantation,
as its name suggests is not an ancient woodland but was instead
planted in the early years of the 19th century.
